Recovery. The thing most of you prioritise LAST.

You’ll sign into a million HIIT workouts before a stretch sesh? You love the buzz from a hard workout too much to miss one of those for a stretch? You only have so many hours in the week to workout so you want to make sure it’s one that burns the most cals/gains you the most strength etc? You can’t switch off so know an hour of thinking of your to do list isn’t going to make you feel any better?

What if we told you recovering well from your exercise is like dipping your body in the fountain of youth! Studies show that exercise is effctive slowing down the ageing process however, recovering well from your sessions is just as important.

We stand behind this so much that we make all stretch and yoga sessions to our members complimentary no matter what membership they are.

Outside of stretching, here are a few things that we recommend doing to prevent the waddle & help the 'can't get up off the toilet' moment after too many squats.

  • Magnesium - Reach out to a trusted health professional for the best magnesium supplement for you! Magnesium spray & creams are also wonderful. Try Salt lab!

  • Epsom Salt baths - If you are lucky enough to have a bath these bad boys will save you. We also love an Epsom salt bath to ease period pain.

  • Foam rolling, stretching & a cool down straight you workout

  • Water & lot's of it!

  • Nourishing meals - most importantly protein! Help your body repair and regrow muscle proteins.

  • Sleep - jump into bed a little earlier and read rather than go on your phone!

  • Avoiding alcohol - alcohol interferes with our bodies recovery processes occurring after exercise. One of these processes includes protein synthesis, which is how your muscles recover and grow.
