My advice to anyone who is wanting to get started at Pineapple but is feeling nervous is to give it a go, it's a great investment in yourself!

Before I started, I felt a bit lost. Growing up I always played sport to keep fit but I had a 3 months old baby and sport did not seem like an option at the time.

The 3 things I've gained since training at Pineapple are friendships, physical strength and a better mindset around food.

What I like most about Pineapple is the friendships and accountability. I'm more motivated to train when I know I'm meeting someone at training. I have friends and the coach checking in all the time.

When I first started I didn't know many people but once I started going to regular sessions and meeting people at training and social events I feel like I'm part of a great community.

I love the variety. I get bored easily and like the combination of the SGT sessions Vs. the Yoga/ encouraging mindfulness + listening to your body. Loads of information + support and just making new friends + feeling part of a great group.

I moved to Carrington last year to start a new chapter life. I wanted to start making healthier lifestyle choices and get moving again. I saw Pineapple sign thought it sounded like the place I needed to join.

My goal was to commit to doing to something I enjoy, get fit and healthy, and have some fun and be happy! Hopefully lose some weight and get stronger. It was important for my confidence.

Pineapple is a safe space to work on becoming the best version of yourself you can be.

Before I started training at Pineapple I felt tired, rundown, lonely, unmotivated and unfit!

I have gained strength, a sense of community and consistency! Pineapple is a safe space to work on becoming the best version of yourself you can be.

This came not just through training / fitness, but also from the beautiful community of people I met who helped me achieve a sense of calm and clarity in the chaos of life. I'm the strongest I've ever been, but also the happiest.

The sense of community is like no other. You'll feel at home in no time and it'll be the best decision you'll ever make!

No judgement, only encouragement. This group has given me the confidence to just give anything a go because I know they support me along the way. The experience, knowledge and expertise the coaches provide me with gives me complete confidence and trust in all I do.

What I've gained since training at Pineapple are:

My tribe! What I needed the most and didn't know I was missing.

Acceptance to be me with no judgement at all. Finding this community has given me so much happiness.

FEELING STRONG! I LOVE TO WORKOUT! Who would have thought?! I never knew I would love to work out. The feeling of an endorphin rush I get and how this gets me through the day is the best most addictive experience. I always leave feeling amazing with a smile on my face. Never regret a workout ever.

Joining our community is good for your mental health, happiness, fitness, health and your overall well being. You will make friendships that become family and it's for life.

My advice to anyone who is wanting to get started at Pineapple but is feeling nervous is… There is no judgement in this family, just encouragement, love and laughs! Set a small goal and before you know it you will be killing it!

Before I started training at Pineapple I felt unmotivated and out of condition. I played a game of touch and I was so out of breath (and also fell over myself playing the ball) that it really kicked my arse into action!

The 3 things I've gained since training at Pineapple are Fitness, Health, and Motivation

What I like most about Pineapple is the community - women supporting women.

I wanted to find a fun and supportive outdoor exercise group that would help to keep me consistent with training. Exercise is so important to mental health and I wanted to find something that made me smile and laugh each session. I feel super lucky to have found the Pineapple community!

“It's been the best thing I have done since moving to Newcastle.”

Before I started at Pineapple, I had lost my mojo with exercise! I was also spending a lot of my working day in the office so was very keen to start exercising outdoors, not only for my physical health but mental health.

I love how inclusive Pineapple is and how positive and welcoming both the clients and trainers are. Everyone is so lovely and friendly.

Pineapple Fitness has everything, great variety of classes, amazing people, exercising at sunrise, swimming in the ocean and most importantly all followed with coffee!

‘I’D NEVER EXERCISED BEFORE, I AVOIDED IT, AND NOW I AM ADDICTED!’

I was so nervous to begin and start

After my first sesh, I WAS ADDICTED (that was 8 years ago)!

I Dropped 20KG AND MAINTAINED IT! AND HAVE SMASHED SO MANY FITNESS GOALS.

I ran the biggest hill in King Edward Park, something I had wanted to achieve for a long time! TODAY I STILL LOOK AT THAT HILL AS SOMETHING I BEAT!

I have inspired my family to be active, 2 x teenage children included!

What I love most about being a member at Pineapple is the acceptance of where I'm at now and the balance of challenge and encouragement as I work through my program.

Before I started at Pineapple, I felt as if I might never get my fitness back after illness.

The 3 things I have gained from being a Pineapple member are a sense of achievement, a sense of good progress, and amazing encouragement from the coaches.

What I would say to anyone thinking of joining Pineapple would be, come along and be supported and encouraged to achieve your goals within a great community of women.

I have gained strength/fitness and a heap of confidence that has helped me feel like myself again.

Before I started with Pineapple, I felt pretty blah and very sluggish. My second child was a little over one year and I really wasn't doing anything for myself or my health.

Through training with Pineapple, I have gained strength/fitness and a heap of confidence that has helped me feel like myself again. I might have expected that but I have also gained a number of friends and a whole community of women that are just so happy to celebrate a fellow Pine.

The best thing about Pineapple is the variety of classes and movements. The classes/programs will always keep your body guessing. I am always impressed by the willingness of members & coaches to offer help and support. It's also a mine of information and advice.

We are all at different levels of fitness and strength, you don't need to worry about how you're going to look. Absolutely no one will be judging you.

Before I started training at Pineapple I was working in a desk bound job and finding it very difficult to find the time and motivation to exercise. I was mentally tired, physically tired and had developed a shoulder injury due to the job and not moving my body enough. I started to pile on weight and developed a sluggish and stagnant lymphatic system. During the two years of COVID lock downs, doing a sanitary job, a shoulder injury and transitioning to post menopause I was struggling. I was feeling fatigued, I was experiencing full body aches and pains, a heart racing heart and hot flushes. This all came upon me very quickly. This was my first desk job and my body was and still does not like it. I was becoming more and more isolated as I am pretty new to Newcastle and with two years of my time here being in lockdown, my mental and emotional wellbeing was on the decline. I missed connecting with family and friends and I knew I needed to make some big changes in various areas of my life once the world opened up again. As soon as we came out of lockdown I joined Pineapple. Becoming a part of the Pineapple tribe was the change I needed!

My initial goal was to get out of bed earlier a few mornings a week and get into nature (the beach). To move my body, build strength and get a little fitter, but most importantly I needed to have some fun and find some joy! I missed laughing and having fun. Due to distance I wasn’t connecting much with others, and I work in health, so whilst interesting there is not a lot of opportunity for fun and laughter. I was in search of people I could have a good time and a good laugh with! I was on the lookout for a community I could connect with. I feel like I found that in Pineapple!

What I like most about Pineapple is the welcoming and fun community. The coaches are all high vibe, supportive and encouraging. They have a wealth of knowledge and can adapt any workout to meet the needs of each individual. Pineapple offers various options to meet the goals of every woman. They take a holistic approach to each individual member's health and wellbeing, which include not just fitness goals but also diet, recipes and mental health tips and tricks. The Pineapple team always makes themselves available to chat if needed. BBB (dance class) could quite possibly be my favourite class but I also love Strong and Boxing! Ocean swims and coffee after outdoor classes is the icing on the cake! I love that yoga is complimentary for every member as the Pineapple team understands the importance and benefits of a regular stretch and release practice. Pineapple runs numerous challenges throughout the year to help members connect and achieve their goals, which are fun and encouraging. These are just some of the things that make Pineapple worthwhile.

The thing I have been most proud of myself for achieving is setting my alarm for 5.30am three to four times per week and showing up for myself. It is not easy but never have I regretted a pineapple workout and a chance to hang with the Pineapple crew! Now when I go back to Jervis Bay to visit my friends they say, “How good is Pineapple! I wish we had a Pineapple here. It looks like so much fun!” And I say “ Thank the lord for Pineapple”!! Joining BBB (dance class), never have I ever attempted a choreographed dance class! And as I was approaching 50, I never thought I would be doing this. But in my first week of Pineapple I wanted to try all of the classes as I was in search of new experiences and joy, so I landed in BBB! I have never looked back! Dancing is such a wonderful way to move the body, get the endorphins pumping and get the energy moving but the fun and laughter that is experienced in these classes with the hilarious Dance Mom Brittany and crew is priceless! I feel proud of myself for stepping out of my comfort zone and embracing this new experience. Also, joining Pineapple has also given me the fire in my belly to make changes to my work situation. I have establish work that supports my health and wellbeing, whilst supporting others with theirs.

My next goal is to keep moving my body! To keep getting stronger and showing up for myself every day. After 50 and being post menopausal it can become harder to be motivated to keep going, to keep moving, to keep trying different things but I believe we can’t stop (if you don’t use it, you loose it), we have to keep going in order to feel well in the skin we’re in! I believe moving my body as I am with Pineapple, and with a balancing yoga practice, I am helping my body to balance my hormones adequately. I am feeling more energetic and motivated. I am feeling less aches and pains and am sleeping better. Getting up before 6am and going to bed before 10pm is helpful for my circadian rhythms, body, mind and general health. Joining Pineapple has been a great way to keep myself accountable and pivotal to maintaining this life changing routine. Also, helps with keeping alcohol to weekends. I love Pineapples 80/20 concept for food and alcohol. It keeps things easy yet accountable. All of this has been a game changer for my health and wellbeing over 50!

My advice to anyone who is wanting to get started at Pineapple but is feeling nervous/too unfit/old is? Don’t think, just do! It will be the best thing you could do for your physical, mental, emotional and spiritual self! Every woman deserves to feel healthy, confident, happy, fit, strong and connected to self and others, whilst having a whole lot of fun!!
